AR Design Studio refurbished the 'Kilham House,' an existing residence located along a shady lane on the outskirts of Winchester, England.
The update turned what was once an old building with a disorienting floor plan into a contemporary family home. Visitors enter the home through a double-height entrance that leads them into the main living space. The room is bordered by sliding glazing, offering beautiful views of the surrounding garden.
Inside, the central staircase separates the kitchen, dining and living areas, while also acting as a focal point. The staircase is enclosed by steel wires, which hang suspended around it, partially forming the handrail. It is complemented by Foscarini's Gregg pendant lights, which are scattered throughout, adding a lightness to the spacious area.
