Mid-Century Home Modern Extensions

AR Design Studio Extends the Seventies House in Winchester

AR Design Studio takes on a design project that adds a contemporary extension to a mid-century style home in Winchester, United Kingdom dubbed the Seventies House. It was originally built in the 70s and the project has simultaneously restored the house and the garden on site, which was neglected.

The addition is 1,012 square feet and it celebrates the luscious surroundings on the property. The home's garden was originally the most defining feature and fell to neglect over the years. The studio rejuvenates the garden by trimming back the foilage and also adding new plants. Inside the extension is an open and flexible space with a kitchen, dining space, and living area for hosting group gatherings.
