The product is plant-based and made of natural ingredients like soy protein, algal flour, as well as plenty of vitamins and minerals. By ingredients, the product is free from lactose, animal ingredients and nuts, which is helpful in broadening the scope of consumers who would be interested in the Food Bar.

Following the launch and success of its original product, Soylent has recently begun to expand its offerings with the Food Bar and Coffiest.
