Disney Springs' Jaleo is Meant to Look Like a Vegetable

Walt Disney World recently announced a new restaurant, Disney Springs Jaleo, that will serve up Spanish cuisine from Nobel Prize-nominated chef José Andrés. Disney Springs, the shopping and dining destination that is situated just outside of the theme park, offers plenty of places to enjoy world-class cuisine and Jaleo is only set to add to the wide range of options available.

Notably, the design of Jaleo was developed to resemble an artichoke. The architects at Barcelona-based Capella Garcia opted to introduce Spanish design themes with a standout design that's entirely organic in shape and form. As Juli Capella, principal at Capella Garcia Arquitectura describes: “there are no cubic forms, no opaque walls, no straight lines: here reigns a plant-like organic structure with its dynamic forms."

While the artichoke-inspired building is not green in color, it will boast a welcoming, avant-garde scheme that favors the colors of Spanish citrus fruits.
