The multidisciplinary design firm URBANJOBS has completed the interior design for Esca, a new contemporary Mediterranean restaurant located within a shopping complex in Izmir.
The design concept for the establishment draws inspiration from the regional aesthetic. URBANJOBS utilized a material palette of natural stone, wood, and plaster to cultivate an atmosphere of understated elegance. The spatial configuration is organized into several distinct zones, including a central bar with multi-level access, a terrace area designed to emulate an indoor room, and a private dining section. With the design of the contemporary Mediterranean restaurant, URBANJOBS aimed to create a seamless transition between the interior and exterior spaces. This is achieved achieved through strategic openings and integrated shading solutions.
Esca's culinary direction is provided by a chef with Michelin recognition, whose menu philosophy emphasizing local and seasonal produce is intended to harmonize with the surrounding interior environment.
