The NBA is furthering engagement with its fans through a new AR app dubbed '360 Portals' -- an interactive platform that's offering a virtual court experience during this year's NBA finals.
The app, which is powered through augmented reality, invites users to engage both on and off the court, with a series of offerings that offer an authentic, behind-the-scenes look. Through the app, fans are transported into the middle of team huddles and can even watch as the team celebrates a win. All of the featured content is captured through 360-degree cameras, resulting in what Melissa Rosenthal Brenner, the NBA executive vice president of digital media described as a "new way to experience the game."
