Floating Coconet is a notable example centered around sustainability and aims to battle plastic pollution by eliminating it. The anti-plastic pollution device was founded on Kickstarter and designed to "capture plastic pollution in rivers before it has the chance to enter the oceans."
Another design innovation to note is Objects and Ideograms' coral reef restoration solution project titled ''Coral Carbonate." Based in the US, the company is developing coral reef substitutes that are developed with 3D-printed calcium carbonate materials. The formations are not only sustainable but can house coral reefs, allowing marine life to grow while simulating and replacing deteriorating underwater vegetation.
