As online shopping is starting to see broad use by an increasing customer base, e-commerce innovations continue to shape the young industry. Consumers are now fully embracing the convenience of online shopping, as it is now an industry norm. But e-commerce innovations continue to disrupt the industry in a number of different and unique ways.
One recent edition of e-commerce is balance transferring, which was rolled out by Mercari. The program is titled Instant Pay and it allows users to transfer their Mercari balance to another debit card within minutes.
Recently, the Loop shopping platform was launched to provide users with an eco-friendly way to make online purchases. Loop is an e-commerce site that ships its products with reusable, zero-waste packaging.
Physical locations are also an emerging aspect of the e-commerce industry. Amazon Counter consists of brick and mortar stores and the program will expand to have 1,500 locations by the end of 2019.
