Amazon’s Shop Direct is Now Available for Merchants

— March 17, 2026 — Tech
Amazon’s Shop Direct is an AI-powered shopping feature designed to extend product discovery beyond items sold directly on its marketplace. When customers are looking for a specific product or brand, the system can display listings from external retailers, giving shoppers access to products sold across the web. Customers can either select 'Shop Direct' to visit the merchant’s website and complete the purchase, or choose 'Buy for Me,' which allows Amazon’s AI to place the order for the customer using their saved payment and shipping information.

Amazon has recently expanded the program to make participation easier for merchants by supporting third-party product feed integrations. Retailers can now connect existing feeds from platforms such as Feedonomics, Salsify, and CEDCommerce to automatically update catalog listings, pricing, and inventory in real time. This allows merchant products to appear in Amazon search results and within Rufus, Amazon’s AI shopping assistant, increasing visibility and discovery.
