Floating Rock Sculptures

The Woods Davy Rock Exhibits Display Rocks in Suspended in Mid-air

California-based artist Woods Davy has unveiled a series of rock sculptures. Titled Cantamar and Granite, the collection is suspended as each rock is attached to one another while hanging in mid air.

Based on a "Western Zen" motif, Davy relays exceptional balancing acts in each piece. His arrangements are supported with bits of steel, and while the material is present, it remains hidden and largely out of sight to the unsuspecting eye.

Cantamar and Granite are also largely reminiscent of clouds. On top of the hovering motif, the rocks are also circular, mimicking the exact layout of skylines. In place of a blue color scheme is Davy's choice of a nude and yellow palette however, introducing fresh tones to the artistic niche.
