Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions

Ugo Rondinone Presents the Bright Light Shining Installation

Ugo Rondinone presents his latest exhibition dubbed Bright Light Shining, which is on display at the Gladstone Gallery in New York. It explores the contrast between the natural and unnatural whilst also bending concepts that surround time, scale, and material. The sculptures are meant to feel like something out of a dream with a bizarre yet familiar feel.

These initially appear to be large roots or trees that are upside down with a bronze finish. The space features a large skylight and grey walls, which are purposefully painted for this exhibition specifically. This means to give the obscure sense of time, unsure if it is day or night. The sculptural lightning means to channel the idea or bring more longevity to an experience that usually lasts a millisecond.
