Sten Studio’s Lithic Bloom collection translates the fleeting beauty of flowers into enduring stone sculptures that evoke botanical forms and sensory presence. Presented at Design Miami 2025, the series includes a centerpiece, stools, auxiliary tables, and seven tall, totem-like stone figures that nod to floral diversity through abstracted geometry. Sculptures named Florea, Peonara, Hydraea, Folia, Tulipa, Milpiah, and Helicor articulate variations of petals, buds, and stems through carved marble and onyx, giving visual weight to shapes normally perceived as delicate. The group also incorporates three lamp pieces and sculptural scent diffusers that extend the sensory experience of a garden in stone.
Materials such as Golden Calacatta marble, pineapple onyx, and green onyx are selected for their inherent texture, colour, and ability to resonate with light and shadow across surfaces. The forms balance organic inspiration with material permanence, inviting viewers to linger with shapes that suggest blooms without literal representation.
