The Rokko Sofa is a sculptural seating concept by Mudu Studio that juxtaposes the visual weight of smooth, stone-like forms with generous, cloud-soft cushioning. The design takes inspiration from rounded geological boulders shaped by wind and water over time, interpreting these monumental shapes as voluminous upholstered units that invite relaxed seating.
Despite their substantial sculptural presence, the cushions are formed from soft layered upholstery that promises supportive comfort and tactile richness. The multisegment configuration can be arranged as single seats, loveseats, or three-seater compositions, allowing flexible spatial organisation within interiors. Rokko Sofa’s pieces read like natural rock formations while functioning as inviting lounge seating.
The sofa system contrasts its heavy visual language with slender structural options, including processed aluminium bases that make the cushions appear to float above the floor. An alternative version uses a podium-style stainless-steel base to anchor the forms more firmly. Textiles range from earthy, stone-evoking textures to richer solid colours, emphasising both geological reference and contemporary interior palettes.
