This University of Lapland Renovation is Color-Coordinated

Interior designers Suvi-Maria Silvola and Laura Seppänen have created a dynamic new lounge environment at the University of Lapland in Finland that challenges convention when it comes to traditional learning spaces. Designed with reference to the Finnish landscape, the architecture of Alvar Aalto and the world of Christmas, while attention was paid to using sustainable materials and methods whenever possible.

The space is littered with pieces from iconic Nordic designers and features several color-coordinated spaces that invite collaboration and interaction. An example of the collaborative vision for the future of education, the space provides students with room to relax, make friends and generally unwind in a collective environment that can help to make them feel less alone during the particularly difficult time.
