California-based Faulkner Architects recently completed the Truckee Creek House -- a modern and luxurious home built into and inspired by the rocky landscape.

The home weaves its way around the natural landscape, offering unique architectural details. The exterior is clad with a contemporary mixture of steel and concrete, complementing the evergreen forest and boulders. The interior was made with similar materials, making the floorplan flow comfortably from room to room. The team decided to use large panels of glazing to highlight the existing rocks into the home like a piece of art.

The landscaping is filled with custom-made rock gardens, elevating the appearance of the Truckee Creek House and creating a zen atmosphere.
