Simplistic Fast Food Restaurants

The 'Simple' Restaurant Keeps Things Straight-Forward

Design studio Brandon Agency teamed up with interior designer Anna Domovesova to create the Simple Restaurant, a fast food eatery located in Kiev, Ukraine.

When we think of fast food, we might conjure images of over-processed mystery meat and generic franchise interiors. However, this is not the case when it comes to Simple. It is a restaurant catering to the needs of a new generation, which are as follow: convenience, nutrition and, of course, simplicity. The kitchen offers simple foods made from locally-sourced ingredients, and the storefront was designed to reflect this philosophy.

Located in a old brick building in a central area of Kiev, the restaurant was optimized for partial self-service. The interior was done in natural materials, such as plywood and craft paper, that corresponded to the restaurant's main concept: "be simple, eat simple." To decorate, common objects were given new responsibilities; for instance, rakes used as coat racks, shovels as door handles and rolling pins used as drink menus.
