Saliva Biomarker Testing Services

Biolyz Launches Its Saliva-Based Biomarker in Europe

Biolyz offers saliva-based biomarker testing for professional sports teams, using mass spectrometry to analyze dozens of markers related to immunology, inflammation, sleep, hydration and psychological stress. Founded in 2021 by Marlon Millard, the company operates laboratories in Austria, Germany and England.

Athletes can provide samples in about a minute, with laboratory processing typically returning results within roughly 24 hours. Teams combine the data with other performance measures to help manage training loads and recovery. Biolyz works with clubs including Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen, along with cycling teams and several U.K. soccer organizations. An April funding round supported construction of its third laboratory in England.

For teams, the service adds another source of internal-load data that can support more individualized performance decisions. Biolyz plans to expand into the U.S. in 2027 as it works to increase testing capacity and reduce logistical constraints.
