Biolyz Partners with soccer team Borussia Dortmund

— December 17, 2025 — Lifestyle
Biolyz, an Austrian technology firm specializing in biomedical analysis, has entered into a multi-year agreement with the German professional soccer club Borussia Dortmund to implement its saliva-based diagnostic system for monitoring athlete health and performance.

Biolyz's saliva-based diagnostic system analyzes a single drop of saliva through advanced spectrometry. This allows the brand to track over one hundred distinct physiological biomarkers related to stress, metabolic function, inflammation, and recovery.

Biolyz's technology is useful for elite sports due to its capacity for high-frequency testing and ability to generate a dense, continuous dataset on internal physiological load. During an initial trial period with Borussia Dortmund, the saliva-based diagnostic system processed over 12,000 samples and evaluated over one million biomarker datapoints. With athletes being tested two to five times per week, Biolyz's technology was able to show "team-level trends in hydration, stress, and recovery."
