Paesana Launched Its 'Plant-Based Bolognese Sauce' in 100 Costco Stores

Italian food brand Paesana has launched its 'Plant-Based Bolognese Sauce' in 100 Costco stores throughout Canada. The vegan-friendly pasta sauce is a full-bodied ragu made from Beyond Meat branded "crumbles," fresh Italian tomatoes, olive oil, and red wine.

According to Paesana, after discovering Beyond Meat crumbles -- an alternative to ground beef -- the company decided to craft a high-quality, authentic vegan bolognese. Boyend Meat's unique product was “rich and robust enough to deserve the Paesana name,” says the company on its website.

The jarred sauce will only be purchasable in bulk-sized two-packs and will come in two varieties: a classic and spicy version. “The beauty and warmth of Italian cuisine is something that everyone should be able to enjoy, this includes anyone who considers themselves vegetarian or vegan," reads Paesana's website, referring to the company's inspiration for crafting this one-of-a-kind, vegan-friendly sauce.
