The evocatively named 'Naked Castle' is a hotel and resort in China that combines traditional Chinese architectural and style with the unmistakable medieval and Renaissance grandeur of Europe. The complex consists of several different buildings, many of which are squarely within historically Chinese architectural design tenets, but it is crowned by a castle that looks like something out of a Bavarian fairy tale.
Naked Castle is on Mogan Mountain in the province of Zhejiang, China. At the top of a peak, it offers tremendous views of the surrounding mountain range. Considering that view, the complex is also designed with the intention of preserving the environment. Despite its historical vernacular, the buildings emphasize sustainable and green development though minimal pile that reduced the total amount of raw resources necessary for its creation.
