Kiki & Joost Adds a New Installation Space to Eindhoven Studio

Dutch design duo Kiki & Joost has opened up a public exhibition that is connected to the duo's Eindhoven studio. This allows them to freely showcase their work in contrast to a traditional gallery. The couple, Kiki van Eijk and Joost van Bleiswijk create work as independent designers who also work under the duo name. The site was assembled in under two days with poured concrete as the flooring and a basic structure held by hammered wood pins.

Van Ejik shares with Dezeen, "The world is changing. People are interested in design but they are also interested in seeing how designers work, what their workshops are like, what they are interested in. We felt the urge to have an exhibition space for ourselves to present things as soon as they are ready, where nothing is planned beforehand and it can all be super spontaneous. It makes a big difference from planning ahead with museums or galleries."
