Punk-Inspired Parisian Factories

Studio ECOA Re-Designs the GSL Gallery Space with New Themes

The Guild of Saint Luke works in collaboration with architecture firm Studio ECOA on a new design update of the GSL Gallery, which was a former factory in Paris. It spreads across one story with two mezzanines and functions as a studio and exhibition space that invites artists, artisans, and architects that come together to create the Guild of Saint Luke.

Creative director of the studio John Whelan speaks about the design and concepts to Dezeen, "We were charmed by the space and found the patina and raw walls to be punk and accidentally on-point. Working in close collaboration with Studio ECOA, we proposed a project that retained all of the rawness of the spaces with very minimal design interventions. We felt that it would be criminal to interfere with the existing mood, which is melancholic and eerily beautiful."
