The island retreat by Fearon Hay Architects is made from several transparent shoreline structures that are linked by a central courtyard. The island retreat is located on Waiheke Island in New Zealand, and the structure resembles a canopy with its overhanging roof and glass facade.
This home is made from massive concrete pillars and floor-to-ceiling glass windows that reveal panoramic views of the rolling hills and Matiatia Bay. On one side of the house is a garden, and on the other side are numerous solar panels.
Fearon Hay Architects are based in Auckland, New Zealand and they work nationally and internationally focusing on residences, interior projects and commercial briefs. This beautiful island cottage getaway has a rustic and innovative feel.
