Margarine brand Flora—better known as Becel in North America—is introducing a plant-based heavy cream alternative that can be used for both cooking and whipping. The Flora Plant Double cream boasts a unique recipe made from fava beans and said to perform and taste like its dairy cream counterpart.
The Flora Plant Double cream, which is targeted towards the food service industry, is packaged into one-liter containers, offering a convenient way for chefs to add richness, depth of taste and an indulgent mouthfeel to a variety of dishes.
Outside of plant-based milk beverages, consumers are being introduced to a variety of new products that have the potential to replace specific dairy products. As well as helping to make sure that dishes can appeal to a wider range of consumers for ethical reasons, the product also offers value by removing specific allergens.
