A recent Chromecast promo invited an arena full of New York Islanders fans to compete against each other in a mobile game for exclusive discounts towards the new video streaming device from Google. Taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the unique promotion included the entire arena being divided into four teams, with those teams then competing for 90 seconds.
Upon completion of the game, participants were given a promo code worth $10 to be entered in Google's e-commerce platform and used toward the purchase of Chromecast. In this instance, 18,000 people participated in the 'Own the Ice' challenge.
