Compression-Free Breast Imaging

Koning Uses CT to Capture Detailed 3D Breast Images

Koning Health is advancing compression-free breast imaging with a dedicated CT system that captures true 3D volumetric images without requiring traditional breast compression. The Koning Breast CT System uses cone beam computed tomography to provide detailed views of breast tissue while aiming to create a more comfortable experience for patients. Its inclusion in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods now allows commercial supply in Australia, with Brisbane Radiology becoming the first provider in the country to purchase the system.

The approval gives Koning Health an opportunity to expand its international footprint while introducing an alternative approach to breast imaging in a new market. For imaging providers, offering compression-free scans could help differentiate services while responding to patient demand for greater comfort during diagnostic procedures. Koning can also build recurring relationships with Australian providers through installation, education and clinical adoption support as the technology reaches additional facilities.
