Considering how common gluten intolerance is, it is not surprising that more and more health-conscious recipes addressing this issue are popping up across the Internet; the latest is the Avocado Donut. Although the name might put some people off immediately, the Avocado Donut is a sweet and savory dessert that will appease many who are looking for delicious alternatives in the dessert department.
Originally conceived by Scarletta Bakes, the Avocado Donut was adapted by twin sisters Lori and Michelle of Pure 2 Raw to resemble more of a traditional donut. Not only does the dough use an avocado puree, the frosting does as well. Topped with little cacao nibs and pink sea salt and the Avocado Donut looks like something that could be solds at Dunkin' Donuts.
