Stacked Box High-Rises

The 1500 West Georgia Building Will Stand Out in Vancouver's Skyline

Chinese architecture studio Buro Ole Schereen is envisioning a mixed-use highrise on 1500 West Georgia in the city of Vancouver in Canada. This tower will feature a novel form that features an array of extruding vertical and horizontal boxes, helping it considerably stand out in the city's skyline.

The unusual and eye-catching design of the tower will make it possible to have massive terraces, patio areas and spacious horizontal areas that you wouldn't usually associate with a high-rise building. This also means that surrounding views will be respected and impacted less.

Given the balance of urban development and natural beauty available in Vancouver, it seems only fitting that this tower feature a novel form that allows for the maximum use of vertical space whilst still allowing for the appreciation of the city's nature.
