Sculptural Restaurant Interior

The Gunter Restaurant Reshapes a Vienna Hotel with Curved Forms

The Gunter Restaurant by Büro KLK is located inside the Hotel Schani UNO City in Vienna and introduces a sculptural interior defined by curved architectural elements and layered materials. The space features stainless steel counters, mirrored columns, textured stone surfaces, and deep red seating arranged beneath circular ceiling lights. Arched openings and reflective finishes create shifting sightlines, while custom furniture and built-in banquettes divide the dining area into smaller sections. Green tiled surfaces and polished metal details are integrated throughout the layout.

Büro KLK designed the restaurant to operate as a distinct venue within the existing hotel structure. The project reworks a standard hospitality interior using a combination of reflective materials, saturated color, and geometric forms. The layout connects to the hotel’s public areas while maintaining a separate identity through its material palette and spatial organization.

Sculptural Hospitality Interiors
The prominence of sculptural, furniture-like architecture in dining spaces suggests potential for venues that blur art and service design through form-driven guest experiences.
Reflective Material Integration
Reflective metals and mirrors creating shifting sightlines point toward interiors that amplify perceived space and light while enabling dynamic, mood-driven atmospheres.
Curved Spatial Zoning
The use of arches and built-in curved banquettes indicates opportunities for fluid, non-linear layouts that craft intimate micro-environments within larger public venues.
