Various kinds of fruits and vegetables are now being used to create exciting vegan jerky snacks and at Natural Foods Expo West, No Evil Foods sampled its new Cherry Teriyaki Jerky. This sweet-tart and savory plant-based jerky is prepared with a blend of cherries, mirin, shoyu, garlic and ginger. When it came to creating the product, No Evil Foods set out with the intention to make a craveable vegan jerky line with unique flavors and textures that could appeal to everyone.

The shelf-stable packaging for the plant-based jerky snack is set to be introduced with 100% home-compostable packaging to minimize the impact on the environment.

As the demand for meatless alternatives increases, brands are creating plant-based jerky snacks with everything from meat-like mushrooms and eggplants to various fruits like watermelon, coconut and pineapple.
