19-year-old entrepreneur, Ben Pasternak, recently announced the launch of NUGGS -- a vegan chicken nugget. The company has already secured $7 million in funding from McCain Foods for business development. The plant-based chicken nuggets are made from an advanced texturized pea protein.
NUGGS' state-of-the-art formula is free from eggs, wheat, dairy, and soy, making it an ideal option for those with food sensitivities. The vegan chicken nuggets boast 180 calories and 22g of protein per serving, which is more optimal than traditional, chicken-based nuggets. "At McCain, we believe NUGGS has developed an incredible product that uses plant-based technology to uniquely simulate a high-quality chicken nugget," says Mauro Pennella, Chief Growth Officer at McCain Foods.
More plant-based products, like NUGGS, are entering the market to meet the growing need for sustainable and cruelty-free food options.
