Standing close to an erupting volcano isn't the greatest idea, but that wasn't going to stop YouTube user Shaun O’Callaghan from getting up close with a volcano. However, rather than going it on his own, O’Callaghan sent a DJI Phantom quadcopter to capture an amazing aerial view of Mount Yasur of Vanuatu’s Tanna Island erupting.
Since humans don't have the ability to fly or withstand that kind of heat, using a drone is an effective way to see sights that you would otherwise miss out on. Since it was uploaded earlier this year, O’Callaghan's adventurous volcano-seeking drone video has received millions of hits on YouTube. Comically, he notes "No phantoms where harmed while filming!"
