DeckShiv's 'Neo' is a compact utility knife from the ACTMAX Design Team, built around a tactile magnetic slide with a three-part Push motion of travel, resistance, and return. That motion uses four N52 magnets and adds 0.26 inches of travel over the original, creating a satisfying snap-back feel every time. The mechanism rides on a CNC-machined brass rail and includes a Pin and Stop Pin system that locks the slider at its end point.
The Neo exposes roughly 0.95 inches of edge through a 15-degree asymmetric blade opening and accepts standard SK5 utility blades held by two N52 magnets and a mechanical stop. It’s about 20% thinner than its predecessor at roughly 2.9 by 2.7 by 0.51 inches, and it ships with a one-piece deep-carry clip and a lanyard point.
Bodies come in Grade 5 titanium, aluminum or PEI, each changing the tactile character of the push. A bidirectional machined texture supports ambidextrous use, and an optional tritium vial provides self-powered glow for up to 25 years. The Neo turns a simple cutting tool into a pocket-friendly, repeatable fidget object that still performs as a practical EDC blade.
