Snapchat's filters are one of the biggest reasons for the social media platform's early success, and the Panda app is a new chat and communication platform that's rethinking how those filters should function within users' conversations. The app uses a combination of facial recognition and voice recognition to automatically introduce filters based on what users are talking about, making the fun social feature more organic than it is on other platforms.
At its core, the Panda app is a video chat tool. However, those chats are constantly being augmented by filters. If a user talks about how much they love something, for example, the app's artificial intelligence will recognize that and automatically superimpose a cartoonish beating heart over that user's chest.
