Taco Bell and TerraCycle are teaming up to introduce recycling flexible film packets that can be returned by customers for cleaning, melting and remolding, so that more recycled products can be made. TerraCycle is known for working with materials that are tough to properly dispose of and as Liz Matthews, Taco Bell's global chief food innovation officer, says "In the food industry today, there is no widely available solution for recycling the flexible film packets that are so commonly used for condiments." With this solution, Taco Bell is helping customers to reduce waste one meal at a time.
Taco Bell is on a mission to make all consumer-facing packaging recyclable, compostable or reusable by 2025, as part of 'Eliminating the Idea of Waste.'
