The Bumble Bee Seafood Company is Adopting Recyclable Paperboard Cartons

The Bumble Bee Seafood Company is changing its multipack can product packaging from shrink wrap to readily recyclable paperboard cartons and in doing so, it is estimated that it will help to eliminate 23 million pieces of plastic waste per year. This shift to more sustainable packaging is spanning all multipacks produced by the company, and the paperboard is made from 100% recycled material. including a minimum of 35% post-consumer content and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

As part of its Seafood Future program, launched in 2020, Bumble Bee committed to a goal to ensure that 98% of Bumble Bee packaging would be recyclable by 2025. This change from shrink wrap to paperboard will help to push the brand from 96% to 98% readily recyclable packaging and speed up the timeline by three years.
