Named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2023, the Row 7 Seed Company's Sweet Garleek offers the sweetness of leeks with the mellow, savory notes of garlic. This crossover between a garlic and a leek is the latest vegetable from chef Dan Barber’s Row 7 Seed Company and it's the result of a decade of selective breeding and testing—and it answers the question: "what would happen if a garlic and a leek made a baby?"
This scallion-like vegetable cancels out the aggressive, pungent side of garlic and the entirety of the stalk can be sautéed, roasted, grilled or even consumed raw.
The 100% organic product is grown in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts and it's set to go on sale nationally in 2025.
