Designed by the Anthem creative agency, the Eternal Oceans branding aims at promoting sustainable fishing through style and quality. The packaging design is shaped like a fish with the tail being used as the pull tab to add charm and character to the product.
When it comes to fishing sustainably, many brands simply find it too difficult or time-consuming to partake, which in turn is having negative effects on the fish populations of the sea. The Eternal Oceans packaging aims to be both disruptive and desirable to help convey a number of different things to the consumer.
Canned tuna, salmon and sardines are often packaged in round or squarish tins, but Eternal Oceans packaging takes the literal shape of a fish into account. This helps to remind consumers that what they are buying is an animal product rather than simply a food product.
