Minimal Community-Focused Homes

studiofour Designed the Ruxton Rise Residence Around Family Values

Melbourne-based design firm studiofour updated the city's Ruxton Rise Residence with an incredibly minimalist design that aims to speak to the occupying family's values.

Keeping this in mind, studiofour centered the design around communal spaces, which are intended to create more opportunity for fostering positive relationships with family and friends. With its expansive open spaces and large windows, the home offers an endless supply of natural light—making it appear even larger than it is. This also helps to integrate the interior with the exterior space, an aspect that's further enhanced through the integration of foliage through the home. The outdoor courtyard is also meant to function as an additional room, with the dining room incorporating sliding glass doors that can instantly marry the two spaces together.
