Lotte Department Store and SK Telecom Launched In-Store Storage

As part of an initiative to look to the future of retail, the Lotte Department Store, in Seoul, South Korea teamed up with SK Telecom to create the 'Smart Department Store.'

This forward-thinking retail space includes a Smart Table that provides information via its interactive touchscreen and a Smart Shopper, which enables shopping without a physical cart. Another one of the standout innovations is the Smart Locker, which can be locked and unlocked with one's mobile device.

With the refrigerated Smart Lockers, shoppers are able to keep their selection of grocery products fresh while they browse the other sections of the store. Passwords for the individual lockers are delivered via one's smartphone, which simplifies the experience and gives shoppers peace of mind as they look around the Lotte Department Store.
