In addition to the many fun and interactive augmented reality lenses that it offers, Snapchat is now offering shoppable AR lenses to brands. One of the newest ones has been launched with Domino's and introduces an engaging new way for users of the social media platform to quickly and easily order a pizza—without having to leave the social sharing app.
One part of the shoppable AR experience from Domino's uses facial recognition to put a pair of virtual sunglasses on a person's face, where a pizza is reflected in the lenses of the AR eyewear. Flipping the camera around offers a different experience that involves a floating pizza box that opens.
These interactive, shoppable augmented reality lenses have the potential to boost brand awareness, engagement and sales.
