Cremated Remains Portraits

The Roman Tyc 'Grave Robber' Exhibition is Astonishing Ash Art

Gone are the times when a simple eulogy would suffice in remembering your loved ones as the Roman Tyc 'Grave Robber' exhibition converts real human remains of the dearly deceased into professional portraits.

The controversial display that went on show in Prague at the Dvorak Sec Contemporary art gallery consisted of shadowy illustrations made of the extra ashes from cremation services that a funeral home would usually dispose of. The paintings were never for sale however, and after the show the ashes were scattered in respect. Tyc is no stranger to shocking art, he once spent a month in prison for tampering with traffic signs trying to bring his artistic spin to the streets.

The Roman Tyc 'Grave Robber' exhibition is a disturbing display that is as equally captivating as it is cringeworthy.
