'The Ferryman' is Available for Viewing at Pace Gallery

British artist William Monk is known for creating “atmospheric” compositions that gradually evolve over time. The enigmatic works usually feature mysterious and otherworldly forms. Pace Gallery in New York is hosting a three-venue exhibition of Monk’s latest slew of paintings and works on paper until Jun 11, 2022.

The collection was made in conjunction with GRIMM gallery, and is titled ‘The Ferryman,’ a series of large-scale paintings made with a “subconscious train of thought.” The artist has previously mentioned his process includes becoming aware of the influence of the painting after the fact, learning why that piece came to be and what experiences helped inform it.

A detailed book on Monk will accompany the gallery exhibition, including essays by historic art critics. The Ferryman can be viewed at Pace and GRIMM’s respective galleries in NYC.
