This eye-catching structure implemented by architectural firm Abalo Alonso Arquitectos is intended to enhance the Ribadeo tourism experience. Located in Galicia, Spain, Ribadeo is already a popular tourist destination. The problem is topographical in nature, where the area between the two most visited spots of historic downtown and the seaside marina is restricted. The solution is 'Ribadeo accesible,' which not only improves Ribadeo tourism, but also provides more convenient transportation for local inhabitants.
The structure is situated on a 20 meter cliff, eliminating the need for people to take their cars and thereby create traffic congestion downtown and release harmful pollutants into the air. The four-armed Ribadeo accesible is constructed out of board-form cast in place concrete and granite blocks.
