Advanced Surfboard Materials

Firewire Proflex Technology is Kelly Slate and Mike Woo-Approved

The Firewire Surfboards Proflex Technology has been created by the Carlsbad-based brand as an advanced material that aims to transform the surfing industry with its agile capabilities.

The material was created with the help of surfers Kelly Slater and Mike Woo, and focuses on a lightweight EPS core that's wrapped in an engineered carbon cage. This helps the rider to enjoy greater control over the flex and rebound in targeted areas, while the proprietary deck skin and S-glass layer add additional underfoot strength. The bottom and rails are reinforced with carbon to further maximize durability without stiffness.

The Firewire Surfboards Proflex Technology is available now from the brand online for $1,295 and also through select surf shops around the world.
