'Pixelstone' is an innovative 3D printing machine that creates in a way that's different to most comparable devices on the market. While there are many machines out there that are designed to assist with the creation of complex organic forms, Pixelstone is specifically tailored to making brick façades.
The Pixelstone machine churns out small brick pixels, which can be used to create anything from intricate wall and floor mosaics to 3D toys. The way that these bricks are processed through the machine takes up less energy than a standard brick requires and simplifies the printing process.
The new printing machine is not expected to be on the market for at least another one or two years, but the team at Pixelstone envisions that its technology will someday be able to print entire structures.
