Bleeding Vegan Steaks

Moo Cantina and Deliveroo Created a Plant-based Steak That "Bleeds"

For World Vegan Day this year, Deliveroo teamed up with Argentinian steakhouse brand, Moo Cantina to create a plant-based steak that bleeds beetroot juice.

The non-meat steak is made from chickpeas, gluten-free oats, herbs and spices and is available exclusively to those in select areas in London. Unlike many expensive steaks, this "realistic fake steak" rings in at just £9.95.

Before there was this bleeding steak, Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat both launched meatless burgers that bleed bright red beetroot juice. These products have seen incredible success and can now be found in dozens of restaurants and supermarkets across the United States, indicating the growth and immense potential for non-meat alternatives. Deliveroo itself has seen this opportunity as well, noting 213% increase in vegan orders in the past year.
