A public art piece and performance installation is hoping to share a sobering message on climate change. This artistic endeavor traps people in water-filled boxes so people can visualize the impacts of global warming and connect its long-term effects to their everyday actions. Holoscenes by Lars Jan is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter so that it can complete the centerpiece -- 'a hydraulically-animated aquarium' that floods the performers.
The tank will flood with 12 gallons of water before draining and flooding over and over again. While many people are content to ignore climate change because they don't see how it will have an affect on them, this performance installation proves it will be extremely difficult to ignore one day. Given the current state of island nations like Tuvalu, the more awareness this piece can raise, the better.
