Gas Rig Art Installations

Newsubstance Builds a Striking Art Installation in England

A striking art installation occupies space on "a former North Sea offshore gas platform in Weston-super-Mare, England." Conceptualized and built by Newsubstance, the art installation is part of the Unboxed festival.

The structure is four stories high (a total of 35 meters) and it features a 10-foot-tall cascading waterfall. Newsubstance titled this striking art installation 'See Monster.' The studio has included a wild garden, a number of kinetic artworks (one by Ivan Black and one by Trevor Lee, for example), a multi-level slide, and more. All of these are built atop a 450-tonne platform. The culmination of all these elements makes See Monster "one of the largest art installations in the UK" and there is certainly much to explore in the striking art installation
