Polish artist Alicja Biała's Totemy series include a number of sculptures that visualize climate change data. In 2019, Biała drew the public's attention with six totems that were placed underneath the MVRDV Bałtyk tower in Poznań, Poland. The vibrant structures raised awareness about human impact on the natural environment. In 2022, the artist continues the Totemy series in Liverpool, UK. This rendition of the project is called the Merseyside Totemy sculptures.
Situated on the city's waterfront, three sculptures by Alicja Biała visualize data on rising sea levels. The pieces also predict "what the local area could look like in the year 2080 if ice caps continue to melt and sea levels continue to rise at current speeds."
